Will an HIV test from a pharmacy be reliable if the infection may have occurred 5 years ago?

Five years ago, I had dangerous sex. I would like to prophylactically check if I was not infected with HIV at that time, there was ejaculation in the vagina and there was sex. I do not remember that I had any symptoms of illness then, now I also enjoy good health, but the fears remained. Will a home test purchased at a pharmacy be reliable in this situation?
