Good morning. I've been using the contraceptive ring as a form of contraception for three years. This morning I had sex with my partner without any additional protection, and we took the ring out for it. Unfortunately, due to fatigue after intercourse, I forgot to apply it again and I did it less than 5 hours after removing the ring, which means that the effectiveness of contraception decreases if the ring was removed for more than three hours. The leaflet states that if you have had intercourse within the last 7 days, you may have conception. I'm in the first week of putting on a new ring, but I didn't take a seven-day break in this cycle because I wanted to move the bleeding and I put the ring in as soon as I took out the previous one. I took an ovulation test and it came out negative - the line in the test field is so pale that it is barely visible. In such a situation, are the chances that contraception will not work high? I'd like to add that if I was taking a seven-day break in this cycle, I'd be in the middle of it, and you're still protected during this break, even though you've taken the ring out. I don't know what to do in such a situation and I would like to ask for advice from someone who has an idea about the subject. Should I apply for a prescription for the morning after pill and take it? I'm very worried, because for almost 3 years of use it's the first time I've had such a situation, in all other cycles the ring is inserted and taken out with the watch in hand. Please advise.
