At the beginning of 2021, I had root canal treatment of the second upper molar. Since then, I have felt pain (1-5 on a scale of 10). In the meantime, I went to the dentist, took X-rays and said that everything was fine. I got a second opinion, with a three-dimensional scan (CBCT). The consulted endodontist confirmed that the RCT was done well, there were no visible changes on the roots (i.e. bone healed after RCT). He noticed that there was some bone loss between the molar and the adjacent implant. He saw no reason to be anxious, but because I was in pain, he referred me to a gum specialist. She also did not find any problem, the gums are fine. In short, no one could help me. Now since last week and for the next 7 weeks I am in a country where dentistry is not the best. I can't travel for treatment. The problem is that the kind of pain I was feeling began to be more of an infection and pain. I took a round of Dalacin (5 days, 3 times a day), which helped a little. Now I take Biseptol (2 x 960 per day) and it seems to keep everything under control except at night when I wake up. What should I do? Is it possible to take any medication (I was once advised Metronidazole + Amoxicillin, but in a different situation) for the next 7 weeks to go home? If possible, what should I take? (Everything seems to be available here.) I'm afraid of liver damage if I take too long with medications (Biseptol, antibiotics,...) Or maybe there is no such possibility and I should go to a local dentist, whatever it may be (normally I have no problems getting professional help, as the beginning of the post shows, but I have read several horror films about unsuccessful treatments and extractions here, so I would prefer not). Yes, I know, with pain to the dentist. But here I do not have the opportunity to go to a good dentist.
