When to do an Insti HIV home test to make the result reliable?
Hello, I would like to ask about the HIV home test from Insti. The website says that it can be done 21-22 days after the risk, that they detect antibodies two weeks earlier than other tests and that a positive result can be obtained after 3 months of risk. And I don't know when you can do this test. If I do 4 weeks from risk, will it be credible? Are properly performed home tests reliable in general?

The manufacturer of the test declares that the test detects HIV antibodies of the IgM and IgG class. IgM antibodies are the earliest antibodies produced by the body after HIV infection and can be detected within 21–22 days. However, depending on the rate at which a person's immune system produces HIV antibodies after infection, it can take up to 3 months. The period from HIV infection to the point where the test can correctly determine a positive result is referred to as the 'serological window'. Answering your question - 4 weeks after a risky situation, the test may already detect antibodies, but if the result is negative, and you think that there was a high risk of infection, it will be necessary to repeat it. Home tests are reliable within the rules by which they are used. Such tests are not used to make a diagnosis, so if the result comes out positive - you must go to the doctor and if the result is negative, but nevertheless in your opinion the situation was associated with a high risk of infection - I encourage you to perform the test also in the laboratory.
