Very often, at the beginning of the use of drugs from the SSRI group (i.e. also Citalopram) there are side effects such as you describe: anxiety, sleep problems, hot flashes, nervousness. Therefore, it is often used to gradually increase the dose, e.g. from 10 mg for a week, through another 15 mg, then 20 mg. What dose did you start with, perhaps too quickly? For the first positive effects of drugs such as Citalopram (antidepressants) you should wait 4-6 weeks. Only after this period, the doctor together with you assesses whether the drug works, whether it is necessary to change the drug, include another one or increase the dose. Of course, you can consult a doctor if you are concerned. Side effects of the drug should be reported to the doctor - he will assess the individual situation and decide on the possible modification of therapy. In addition, it allows you to gather more information about the safety of medicines and update data about them, which can help other patients in the future. We wrote about how to report side effects here: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/jak-i-dlaczego-zglaszac-dzialania-niepozadane Side effects of drugs can also be reported individually: https://www.urpl.gov.pl/pl/produkty-lecznicze/monitorowanie-bezpieczeństwa-leków/zg loost-side-effect-0
