Elicea escitalopram is not classified as an addictive medicine. This does not mean that with a sudden cessation of its use, the so-called withdrawal symptoms cannot occur. Therefore, if you decide to stop using it, you should strictly follow your doctor's instructions. As for the duration of therapy, it largely depends on the patient's state of health. In general, it is recommended to take antidepressants for a period of not less than 6-9 months. Even if it improves the state of health is visible much faster, only after the mentioned period is it usually considered to discontinue the drug. In terms of safety, Elicea, like any medicine, may or may not cause side effects. Please remember that the doctor, when prescribing a given drug, takes into account the ratio of the benefits of its use to the possible risks. Since your doctor has recommended the use of Elicea, it is worth trusting him and following his recommendations.
