W przypadku biegunki w trakcie kuracji lekiem Metronidazol można zastosować węgiel leczniczy. Przy czym należy zachować odstęp minimum 4-godzinny przed i po zastosowaniu leku Metronidazol.
Lek Nifuroksazyd jest przeciwbakteryjnym lekiem przeciwbiegunkowym. Leku nie zaleca się do stosowania w przypadku biegunek poantybiotykowych:
