Escitalopram to lek stosowany w leczeniu depresji, stanów lękowych, nerwicy. O przebiegu leczenia i długości terapii decyduje lekarz prowadzący. Generalnie, powinno się go stosować minimum kilka, a nawet kilkanaście miesięcy, czasem leczenia trwa kilka lat.
