After starting the Escitalopram treatment, I am sleepy and sweat more - will it pass?

Hello, I have been taking escitalopram for 11 days and a few hours after taking the pill I get sleepy and dazed. The first 7 days I took half a 5 mg tablet, for 4 days I take 5 mg. I will add that my feet started to sweat terribly. Will the effects pass? I know that you have to wait for the results, but it is quite burdensome to function with a small child. Thank you for your reply.

Symptoms such as drowsiness and increased sweating may be side effects of Escitalopram (these are common side effects). You can consider taking the drug in the evening so that increased sleepiness does not disturb the rhythm of the day. It is difficult to assess whether the described ailments will disappear during the treatment. The drug should start working about 2-3 weeks after starting treatment, while the full spectrum of action can be observed only after about a month. The first period of treatment can be troublesome, but in many cases the symptoms disappear spontaneously after some time. If there is no improvement within 2 weeks, consultation with the attending physician is recommended.
