Can I use Metronidazole if Gynalgin has not cleared my intimate infection?

Hello. The culture showed prevotella bivia - the doctor prescribed Gynalgin 250mg+100mg. I'm already a week after finishing the treatment and the symptoms have reappeared, anyway, I have the impression that during and immediately after the treatment they have not disappeared in 100%. I still have metronidazole 500 mg at home for topical use of course. Can I use this medication again without any worries? A visit to the doctor in 1.5 weeks, I don't know if I will be able to endure.

The described symptoms indicate low effectiveness of the treatment. A re-evaluation of the physician is indicated, plus a possible assessment of the susceptibility of the bacteria to specific drugs. I do not recommend using metronidazole on your own, it will be better to consult the problem with a gynecologist.

On our website, it is possible to order a teleconsultation with a gynaecologist - the service is available in the e-visit tab:
