Ulcerative colitis (WZJG) belongs to the group of non-specific inflammatory diseases of the intestine (NChZJ). Chronic inflammation is limited to the mucous membrane of the rectum and colon. The first symptom is most often diarrhea with an admixture of mucus and blood. The peak of the disease falls on people aged 20-40 years. Every year in Poland, about 700 new cases of WJG are diagnosed.
