Good morning!
I have a classic shaped thermometer at home, while measuring my temperature when I was sick I unfortunately fell asleep with it and when I woke up and found it (curled on my stomach in my pajamas, but I was nervously thrashing around the whole bedroom looking for it before I found it) and I have the impression that it is cracked at the tip - between the tip and the rest of the thermometer, behind the gray end (or at least I think so).
I don't know and I can't find references anywhere to check - could it be a mercury thermometer?

If it turned out to be a mercury thermometer, could there be poisonous mercury gas emitted from the skin (apparently it is emitted immediately)?
How do you know that there has been a mercury leak if I haven't found stains on my pajamas or bedding and is it possible that despite the glass breaking, the mercury didn't fly out (the thermometer didn't break in half and in general, apart from a scratch above the silver tip, I don't see any damage)? What should we pay attention to in order to react if a situation of mercury poisoning occurs?
