Sinus Problems - Test Results
I have a sinus problem. CT scans revealed thickening of the mucous membrane, curvature of the septum and slight hypertrophy of the turbinates.
I took antibiotics, steroids, nasal drops. Everything was ineffective. However, according to the ENT specialist, the situation is not such that there is an indication for surgery, there is no guarantee that the situation will improve after the procedure.
However, my sinuses hurt all the time. We don't know why, because theoretically they shouldn't. Today I had a nasal swab done and I'm waiting for the result.
I got a referral for allergy tests and an ASO. Of course, I'll do the tests, but I'm a bit skeptical about it, because I've had tests done and nothing came out, and I don't feel the typical symptoms for an allergy sufferer.
Hence my question: what other blood tests should be done to find out what causes sinus pain, what could be the cause? What parameters can help diagnose the problem?
I feel helpless now, it's hard for me to function with the pain that accompanies me every day, and there is no clear cause and remedy for it...
