For several weeks I used Bibloc 1.25 for newly diagnosed hypertension. In the course of using the drug, additional ventricular contractions appeared - initially sporadic, then more and more frequent. There was also dizziness, weakness and shortness of breath. I stopped the drug, the symptoms eased, but there was a rapid heartbeat, especially at night and during the slightest effort (eg climbing stairs). Previously, there were no such symptoms, they also did not occur before the start of taking the drug. Before I started Bibloc therapy, my heart rate was between 70 and 83 while measuring. From what I understand, the acceleration of heart rate after discontinuation of a beta-blocker is a normal phenomenon, but I would like to know how long such a state can last. Is it really the case that the heart has to get used to functioning without a drug? The second question - the doctor proposed to change bibloc to Proplanolol, but I am concerned that since it is also a bata-blocker, the side effects may be similar. Do these drugs have a similar mechanism of action or does changing one beta-blocker to another not necessarily cause similar symptoms? Of course, I raised all these issues in a conversation with a doctor who says not to worry about additional contractions, but I ask additionally, because at the moment it has come to the point that problems with uneven heart work make it very difficult for me to function and are much more annoying than the hypertension itself, which the beta-blocker was supposed to treat. So far, apart from the imperceptible prolapse of the valve lobe, I have not had any ailments from the heart, after the problems that began during the use of Bibloc, I have doubts about further treatment with whip-blockers.
