For 3 years I have been suffering from LPRD and at the same time, unfortunately, SIBO (hydrogen test positive) and probably IBS-D or M (symptoms may indicate both SIBO and IBS, so even doctors give contradictory diagnoses). I am already after 5 treatments with Xifaxan, but the symptoms have weakened only slightly (although probably mainly thanks to diet), but I would like to be able to do something also in terms of reflux. I have already been prescribed Goprazole 20mg and Omeprazole 20mg and unfortunately I was not able to take it for more than 14 days - these pills horribly intensify my diarrhea, I am not able to function normally through them. The gastroenterolologist stated that PPIs are the only effective means and I have to somehow come to terms with it. However, I would like to know whether drugs from the PPI group can be effectively replaced by something? Something that, by the way, will not intensify the symptoms of SIBO? Maybe Famotidine? Thank you in advance
