How long after taking ibuprofen (400/600 mg) can I take Metindole retard? This is a medication prescribed to me by a neurologist for cluster headaches. Sometimes I'm not sure what my headache is, so I take ibuprofen. Normally it fights ordinary pain, but not cluster pain, and then I have to take metindole.

There is no minimum time interval between ibuprofen and indomethacin in Metindol Retard. In general, concomitant use of substances belonging to non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, which include both ibuprofen and indomethacin, should be avoided. This is associated with the risk of increased side effects, mainly related to gastrointestinal bleeding, during their simultaneous use. However, if the headache is severe and no improvement is observed about an hour after ibuprofen administration, you can take the medicine recommended by your doctor with indomethacin (Metindole Retard). Most likely, a single use of these drugs should not pose a health risk. I would like to point out, however, that this applies to exceptional situations and people who have not been diagnosed with ulcers or gastrointestinal bleeding in the past.
