Good morning. I take Medikinet (5mg, 2x a day) on ADD, on an ad hoc basis (i.e. only on the days I work). I am also a neurological patient in connection with SUNA syndrome and for pain I take zaldiar 37.5 (2 tablets) on an ad hoc basis. I know that medicines must not be combined. If with severe facial pain and the last intake of Medikinet on Friday at 15:00, can I take Zaldiar temporarily on Saturday after 12:00, is it still dangerous? #medikinet #add #zaldiar #zespółSUNA #interakcje

Yes, you can take Zaldiar if you need to take it and the dosage is as prescribed by your doctor. I understand that the ad hoc intake of Zaldiar was ordered by a specialist who was informed about the use of Medikinet. Only in this case, these drugs can be used together. The time after which methylphenidate (the active substance of Medikinet) is completely eliminated from the body is about 48-96h. The use of Zaldiar after about 21 hours after taking Medikinet reduces the risk of interaction (does not exclude it), due to the initiated elimination process and a decrease in the concentration of methylphenidate in the body. Both Medikinet and Zaldiar can cause seizures in rare cases, due to the lowering of the seizure threshold. Therefore, when used concomitantly, the risk of this side effect increases, especially in people with a history of seizures and when using drugs at doses higher than the maximum. If you notice any alarming symptoms, report them to your doctor.
