Why do I feel wolf hunger after switching to Glucophage XR?
Hello. I have been taking glucophage xr 750 mg recently (switching from Metformax 1000) for diarrhoea. This drug was prescribed to me by a gynecologist because of PCOS. There is no diarrhea but I still feel hungry after this drug . Why is that? And is it normal , wolf hunger.

I have the same thing. ravenous appetite after Glucophage, shortly after taking the pill. I'm on a diet, but this drug makes it difficult for me to maintain it

Metformin (the active ingredient in the drugs you mentioned) causes - and very often - loss of appetite, not its increase. Your ailments are therefore not caused by the drug, perhaps the change made in the therapy - dose reduction, change in the release profile - had an impact. Hunger pangs and "wolf appetite" may also be some of the symptoms of insulin resistance that often accompanies PCOS. Improper diet can also contribute to such symptoms. Sudden fluctuations in blood glucose levels should be prevented and products with a low glycemic index should be chosen. The level of glucose in the blood may be helpful, including during attacks of "wolf hunger". It would be best to talk about the ailments with your doctor.
