Withdrawal symptoms during dose reduction of pregabalin - what to do?

For a year I have been treated with Venlafaxine and Pregabalin for anxiety neurosis. I used pragiole 50 in the morning and 75 in the evening. I'm currently going down from the evening dose to 50. After reducing the dose, the anxiety intensified. I have very intrusive thoughts. Is this normal? And how long will such a state last?

Stopping pregabalin may be associated with withdrawal symptoms, which may include anxiety, impaired concentration, headache or sleep problems. For this purpose, in patients who use the drug for a long time, it is recommended, as in your case, to reduce the dose of the drug gradually. How long these symptoms will persist is an individual matter. If the drug gets worse and you notice "intrusive thoughts", you should seek advice from your doctor. Perhaps he will decide to modify the therapy. This is very important because a properly planned dose reduction regimen is crucial for maintaining lasting treatment effects.
