Has the doctor prescribed the correct dose of Amotaks for Lyme disease in the child?

Hello, daughter almost 3 years, 15kg, diagnosed with borreliosis. The doctor prescribed Amotaks 500mg / 5ml 2x a day for 6ml. Is this the right dosage? Is it not usual to use the drug 3x a day? Best regards

The recommendations for the treatment of Lyme disease with amoxicillin (Amotaks) speak of using a dose of 50 mg / kg body weight per day in three divided doses – in the case of your daughter this would mean using: 3 times a day for 2.5 ml. The dosage does not coincide with the guidelines, but please remember that the doctor, based on his own knowledge, guided by an individual assessment of the patient's health, may modify the dosage of the drug. If you have doubts about the dosage regimen used, I recommend that you consult a doctor. The possibility of online consultation also exists through GdziePoLek: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/telekonsultacja/z-pediatra I enclose several articles related to your question: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/kategorie/borelioza-rumien-po-kleszczu https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/borelioza-po-ukaszeniu-kleszcza
