Is it safe to change Seronil to Symescital?

Hi, I took for a month Seronil 10 mg -did not help and caused side effects. Now I have to change to Symestical. The doctor said to stop taking Seronil for three days and then start taking Symestical after half a tablet. I question whether it is safe, whether you can discontinue fluo from day to day and so quickly introduce a new one?

Switching from one SSRIs (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors) to another from the same group can be done quickly - overnight and usually does not cause the risk of any side effects. The drugs Seronil (fluoxetine) and Symescital (escitalopram) belong to the same class - SSRIs, so this switch is safe.
