Diseases of the blood and hematopoietic system (haematological)
Hello, the general practitioner has been prescribing me xarelto for two years without a specific diagnosis and without measuring the rarity of blood whether I should worry. I had a problem with varicose veins three years ago.

Xarelto is a prescription-only anticoagulant. The doctor assesses the condition of each patient individually and on the basis of this decides on the need to continue drug therapy. The duration of treatment and the dose of Xarelto will be determined by your doctor. Unfortunately, we do not know exactly what is in your medical records and what indication has been given to you. Such documentation can be obtained from the family doctor - just ask. Any use of a medicine must be properly justified. If you are concerned about your health, it may be a good choice to consult, for example, a cardiologist who will also assess your condition. By the way, your family doctor should refer you for a cardiological consultation immediately after the diagnosis of the indication for Xarelto (i.e. about 2 years ago). Xarelto comes in different doses, unfortunately we do not know what dose you have written. As for the INR test - it is not necessary if you are using Xarelto. While you are taking Xarelto, your INR may be falsely elevated. Please do not stop taking the medicine yourself, as it may be a threat to your health. Our portal also allows teleconsultations with specialists. https://www.gdziepolek.pl/telekonsultacja/z-kardiologiem
