Can one of the side effects of Mirena hormonal IUD be stabbing pain under the rib?

Can one of the side effects of a moray insole be pain under the right rib? I have an IUD for 10 days, at first there were abdominal pains and now there is this prickly pain under the rib and I do not know whether to go to a gynecologist or an internist

The side effects described with the Mirena hormonal insert relate to the pain in the lower abdomen experienced by patients. Unfortunately, there is no information about stabbing pain under the rib, this does not mean that it can not occur when using the drug. A doctor's appointment will be required. Personally, I think that the choice of both specialists will be appropriate. Pain under the ribs can be related to the IUD (although we do not have any information about it), but it can also result from other causes that need to be verified (eg related to the gastrointestinal tract, urinary system, etc.). Everything also depends on the severity of the pain and its duration. If you think that the symptoms you describe may be related to the use of Mirena, it is important to report this to your doctor or yourself. About why and how to report such side effects that have not been previously described, we wrote here: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/jak-i-dlaczego-zglaszac-dzialania-niepozadane https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/czy-bac-sie-dzialan-niepozadanych-lekow
