Is it normal for me to bleed for more than 2 weeks after putting on the Mirena IUD?

Hello. I wanted to ask: on January 16, I had a mirena insert and I still have my period to this day, or to this day. Once it is stronger, once the tribe. Please tell me if this is the case or if something is wrong. Regards Ilona

Especially at the beginning of using Mirena, women very often observe bleeding or spotting, which can last up to 3-6 months. Such side effects occur in more than 1 in 10 women using Mirena and are related, m.in to the body's adaptation to hormonal changes. At the moment I see no reason to worry, but please observe your body and in case of anxiety consult your doctor (the system should be checked after 4-6 weeks from its insertion). If irregular bleeding persists for a long time, appropriate diagnostic measures should be initiated. Longer time, i.e.: 3-6 months. Unless there are additional negative symptoms then earlier.
