Can PPIs cause taste disturbances?

Hello, can PPIs cause taste disorders? I have been using omeprazole for a month and for 3 weeks I feel an unbearable bitterness in my mouth, which was not there before and which I can not get rid of in any way. I had such a feeling after some antibiotics, hence my question. My teeth are healthy, I take care of oral hygiene. Best regards

Yes, PPIs can cause taste disturbances, but this is an adverse reaction that occurs quite rarely. More often, bloating, dry mouth and general discomfort of the gastrointestinal tract are observed. I encourage you to read: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/jak-leczyc-wrzody-zoladka-i-dwunastnicy
