Can I use PPIs for a long time? What does long-term use of PPIs mean?

Good morning in gastroscopy Helicobacter came out, I treated Pyler and PPI for a month. Now I also have ipp for 2 months, because I had chronic gastritis, is it safe? I read somewhere that chronically taking Dexilant (or other PPI) is unhealthy, because vitamin B12 may be deficient. What does it mean to take "too long" ??? Month, year ???

Use PPIs exactly as your doctor has told you. In some disease entities, chronic use of this type of drugs is recommended. In the case of long-term use of the preparation (already over 3 months), deficiencies of m.in magnesium and vitamin B12 may occur. In addition, with prolonged use of the drug (especially more than a year of time), the risk of fracture of the wrist, hip, spine increases: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/38182/ipp-20-tabletki/apteki If you have doubts about the legitimacy of further use of the drug, I encourage you to consult your doctor again. You can also use the teleadvice offered, m.in. by the Gdziepolek.pl portal: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/telekonsultacja Any medicine used can cause side effects. This does not mean that every patient will experience them.
