What should I do if the threads of the Ballerine insert have shortened and I cannot feel them?
Good morning, A few days ago I was put on a ballerine intrauterine device. On the first day I was able to feel threads a few millimeters long, and every day they became shorter and shorter and now I am not able to feel them completely. Should this bother me?

If the threads cannot be found in the vagina, check whether the IUD is still in the uterus. In such a situation, it is necessary to visit a doctor as soon as possible. If the threads are palpable and only their length has been shortened, there is no cause for concern, unless there are additional symptoms, i.e. abdominal or pelvic pain, bleeding, fever, abdominal cramps and tenderness, odor discharge.
