Can the third dose of Engerix B be given 3.5 years after the previous one?

Can a child take a 3rd dose of Engerix after the age of 4? The second dose was given 3.5 years ago. Is such vaccination safe and does it make sense as a booster dose?

According to the Summary of Product Characteristics of Engerix B, the recommended primary vaccination schedule for persons up to 15 years of age is: "Schedule 0, 1, 6 months, which allows optimal protection in the 7th month after the first dose and induces high levels of antibodies or accelerated schedule: 0, 1, 2 months, which allows for rapid optimal immune response and ensures better cooperation on the part of the vaccinated. Using this schedule, a fourth dose is recommended 12 months after the first dose for long-term protection because the antibody concentrations after the third dose are lower than those obtained after the 0, 1, 6 months vaccine." When using Engerix according to the above schemes, the effectiveness and safety of vaccination was confirmed. If the vaccine is to be administered in a schedule deviating from the recommended one, the decision on the legitimacy of its administration is made by the person ordering and performing the vaccination.
