The summary of product characteristics Perazine and Aripiprazole does not directly mention St. John's wort as a preparation that should not be used in a combined treatment, but I would be cautious. St. John's wort is metabolised by the same enzyme as aripiprazole - there is a risk of changing the plasma concentration of the active substance and weakening the effect of the drug. St. John's wort may also increase the risk of side effects such as photosensitivity (UV rays). Persistent depressed mood is an indication for consultation with a psychiatrist.
