Good morning. I took the drug Rudotel for over 20years. Due to the fact that this drug is currently not available in pharmacies, the psychiatrist advised me to take Relanium as a substitute. Will I not have withdrawal syndrome, I'm a little afraid of that. Best regards.

Withdrawal syndrome appears when the use - generally sudden, abnormal and complicated by addiction - of drugs such as Relanium is terminated, and not when starting therapy. The medicine documentation describes it as follows: "If the patient is addicted to Relanium, abrupt discontinuation of the drug may cause withdrawal symptoms such as: headache, myalgia, extreme anxiety, tension, anxiety, confusion, irritability. In more severe cases, loss of sense of reality, personality disorders, numbness and tingling of the limbs, hallucinations, seizures, sensitivity to light, sound or touch may occur." It is difficult to predict in advance how the body will react to the drug and then to the end of its use, but following the doctor's instructions should minimize the risk of side effects. I enclose additional information about Relanium - prescription preparations can be booked through GdziePoLek and collected stationary upon presentation of the prescription: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/66506/relanium-tabletki/apteki/w-polsce
