How do I give my child Nebbud?

Good morning, the son got the drug nebbud 0.25 / mg in a dose of 2xdaily 0.5 ampoules. The lady in the pharmacy spent 0.5 / mg and ordered to dilute. How to give to a child? 1/4 ampoule and add salt?

It is not possible to evenly divide the contents of the ampoule Nebbud into four equal parts. In the situation described, I suggest contacting the person who dispensed the prescription in order to clarify what exactly he meant by "dilute" in relation to the dose that was dispensed if in fact a dose other than that prescribed on the prescription was dispensed. However, this seems unlikely to me. It should be noted that Nebbud comes in doses of 0.125 mg / ml, 0.25 mg / ml, 0.5 mg / ml - milligrams per milliliter (not per milligram), but the ampoule is two-milliliter, which can cause misunderstandings. For example, 0,25 mg/ml = 0,5 mg in 2 ml (whole ampoule). When administering half such an ampoule, a dose of 0.25 milligrams is used. The ampoule of Nebbud contains two milliliters of suspension and can be divided into a maximum of two parts - 1 milliliter each due to the presence of a special line on its surface, if the container turns upside down. If only 1 ml is to be used, empty the contents of the container to the level of the indicator line. If only 1 ml of the drug is poured into the nebulizer, it may be necessary to supplement the chamber with salt, due to the parameters of the specific nebulizer. For example, the minimum recommended amount of liquid needed to produce an inhalation mist in a piston nebuliser is usually 2 ml. A 1:1 dilution with salt is also recommended to reduce the adverse effects of the drug on the mucosa. However, in the case of using the entire ampoule, it extends the time necessary to perform nebulization (4 ml of liquid must be administered), which in the case of children does not necessarily translate into improved effects and is sometimes not recommended by the doctors themselves: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/opinie-i-pytania/63260/flaem-czy-nebbud-nalezy-rozcienczac-sola-fizjologiczna According to the information and the drug: "The total volume of suspension contained in the plastic container (ampoule) can be divided to obtain the right dose. The ampoules constituting the unit packages shall be marked with a horizontal dotted line. After inverting the ampoule, this line means a volume of 1 ml. If only 1 ml of suspension is to be used, remove the liquid above the indicator line. When opened, the plastic container should always be stored in laminated foil, in the original packaging. The contents of the open ampoule are suitable for use within 12 hours." I enclose additional information and materials about Nebbud and nebulization: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/52516/nebbud-zawiesina/apteki/w-warszawie
