Can valerian be used with Sertraline?

Hello. For several years now, my wife has been taking Sertraline 50mg once a day. Unfortunately, once in a while the fears come back and excessive sweating. In this case, could valerian be used, or will there be no interaction? Thank you in advance for your reply.

Valerian can be used, but caution should be exercised. The use of valerian (valerian root) together with Sertraline may cause side effects such as drowsiness, dizziness, difficulty concentrating or impaired motor coordination. Older people are particularly vulnerable to the occurrence of such side effects. If they occur, the administration of valerian should be discontinued.
