Tussipect syrup contains, m.in. thyme extract and ephedrine. Ephedrine has a relaxant effect on the smooth muscles of the bronchi, reduces nasal congestion and paranasal sinuses, leading to a reduction in swelling and the amount of secretion formed and finally helps in symptoms such as runny nose. Due to the content of thyme extract, there may be an increase in the amount of mucus secreted, but also easier expectoration. There may be a feeling of intensification of the runny nose due to the possible dilution of the secretion, which has been lying around so far. The main thing is to clean the nose regularly. During treatment, after 1-2 days, the mucosa may be less hyperemic and the runny nose should subside.
