How to use Olfen 100 SR and Mydocalm Forte?

These drugs do not interact with each other, hence they can be used simultaneously. Olfen contains diclofenac, a drug belonging to non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. It is best to take it before a meal. In turn, the drug Mydocalm Forte contains tolperisone, a drug with a relaxant effect on muscles. I would like to emphasize that Mydocalm should be taken after meals, washed down with a glass of water. This is important because insufficient food intake can reduce the availability of tolperisone, thereby reducing its effectiveness. Therefore, Mydocalm can be used, for example, the first tablet after breakfast, the second after dinner, and Olfen e.g. before the second breakfast. Olfen 100 SR is a prolonged-release capsule. Thanks to this, the drug is taken less frequently, in this case 1 time per day, and in addition, the substance is released for a long time, which promotes the protection of the gastric mucosa. As a standard, in the case of people who do not have stomach ailments, there is no need to immediately include a stomach shielding drug. However, if symptoms such as abdominal pain, burning, heartburn begin to occur, this is the basis for including a protective drug, i.e. a proton pump inhibitor (e.g. omeprazole, pantoprazole) or, if possible, discontinuation of Olfen. For my part, I would like to add that in this case it is also worth considering the inclusion of a preparation supporting the nervous system, containing, for example, alpha-lipoic acid, uridine, a complex of B vitamins, or vitamin E.
