The drug should be taken one hour before the planned intercourse, and the effect usually lasts about 4 hours. If the dose of 25 mg does not allow to receive such an effect, and at the same time the patient tolerates the drug well, then this is the basis for raising the dose. I would also like to emphasize that literature data indicate that doses in the range of 50 - 100 mg allow to achieve the best effect. I would like to pay attention not to take the drug with a meal, as it may delay its absorption and thus the occurrence of the effect. If a longer effect is expected, it is worth reaching for another drug from this group, namely tadalafil. It is a drug with the same mechanism of action as sildenafil, but its effect is longer, i.e. 12 - 36 hours.
