Hello. For two days I have had flu-like symptoms, i.e. slight fever, chills, muscle tremors. Added to this was an accelerated heartbeat and sweating. For two days I stopped taking brtintellix and trittico. For the last two weeks, as directed by my doctor, I have been taking half a tablet of brintellix in the morning and 1/3 or 25mg of trittico for sleep. Is it possible that after complete discontinuation of the drugs I have an extra team? He finds no other reason. Please help. Best regards

The symptoms you describe may be the result of a drug-to-drug interaction known as serotonin syndrome. Its main symptoms include m.in irritability, confusion, tachycardia, sweating, hyperthermia, chills, diarrhea, abdominal cramps, vomiting, muscle stiffness. Although you have stopped using the drugs, this does not exclude the appearance of this interaction. The "effects" of treatment remain in the body for several weeks after the end of therapy. In such a situation, urgent contact with a doctor is necessary! Symptoms are rather certainly the result of drug withdrawal, because Brintellix can be "discontinued" immediately, and Trittico's withdrawal symptoms include, m.in. headache, nausea, malaise. Of course, there is a possibility that the symptoms you are feeling are due to a viral infection, which is quite easy at this time of year. However, you should not leave it and wait for it to pass by itself. If the symptoms are the result of the occurrence of serotonin syndrome, they may intensify and new ones appear, so it is better to consult your doctor as soon as possible.
