Chlorprothixen is a drug that works by blocking postsynaptic dopaminergic receptors in the brain, as well as blocking alpha-adrenergic receptors and inhibiting the release of most hypothalamic and pituitary hormones. There are no cases in which Chlrprothixen caused long-term changes. In the currently available literature data, I have not found any reports of a long-term change in the action of neurotransmitters caused by taking Chlorprothixen.
