Yes, in the light of current regulations, the pharmacist may dispense the patient with 2 packs of Transtec 35 μg/h instead of 1 pack of Transtec 70 μg/h with a flat fee. Both the formulation of the medicine, the total amount of buprenorphine and the amount of active substance released per unit of time in 2 packs of Transtec 35 μg/h are equivalent to the active substance content and the amount of buprenorphine released per unit of time in 1 pack of Transtec 70 μg/h. The legal basis for dispensing a medicine in the above-mentioned manner is § 2(4) of the Regulation on the dispensing of medicines and medical devices from a pharmacy, which states: "4. The person fulfilling the prescription or demand may dispense the medicinal product at a dose lower than that specified in the prescription or in demand, if this dose is a multiple of the dose in which the medicinal product is dispensed; the quantity of the active substance contained in the medicinal product dispensed at a lower dose is to correspond in total to the quantity of the active substance contained in the medicinal product at the dose specified in the prescription or in demand.'
