Good morning, I would like to start having sex with my partner. I started taking Slinda single-ingredient contraceptive pills. I want to be sure after what time I am fully protected? Is it a period of e.g. 10 days from the start or maybe shorter? And are one-component tablets less effective than two-component ones?

If you have started packing on the 1st day of menstruation (bleeding), no additional protection is necessary (you are protected from day one). If you started using the drug on another day, you should apply additional protection for 7 days in the form of, for example, a condom. After this time, you are already protected. The use of single-component contraception is slightly less effective than two-component contraception. However, this is not a significant difference, because it is still an effectiveness of about 99%. It should also be remembered that two-component therapy is contraindicated in some cases.
