Can Atorvox 10 mg cholesterol be discontinued after the cholesterol has been levelled?

Hello. Can Atorvox 10mg stop cholesterol after levelling it? And if so, how to do it. Is it possible to take this medicine, for example, every other day or divide the tablet in half and take it every day and gradually reduce the intake of the drug?

To @Karo: It is possible that despite the improvement in results, you still have not achieved your therapeutic goal, i.e. LDL cholesterol levels, which after taking into account all risk factors would be safe. The result of fasting glucose levels should be discussed with your doctor, as should your reluctance or concerns about taking Atorvox. In pharmacies there are products of natural origin supporting the reduction of cholesterol, but they will not have the same potency as atorvastatin and from a pharmaceutical point of view they can not be proposed as a replacement for treatment with this compound: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/kategorie/ziola-na-cholesterol If you have not already done so, I propose to include a change in lifestyle - good eating habits, physical activity can have a beneficial effect on cholesterol levels. regardless of the treatment used.

Thank you very much for your reply. I have one more question. I noticed that the doctor on the next prescription wrote another package of this drug but in a larger dose - 20mg. Is it not possible to continue treatment with a dose of 10mg? For what purpose is the dose increased if there is an improvement? Even after this small dose used only a few months, there was an increase in glucose levels from ideal to 113 measured on an empty stomach. I'm afraid that by increasing the dose I will eventually get diabetes. Is there no possibility of using other cholesterol treatments besides statins?

If the cholesterol level as a result of therapy with Atorvox has fallen to the level set for therapeutic purpose, it means that the drug is working and that you should not give up therapy. The statin can only be discontinued in some cases and for guidance on your individual case, contact your doctor. It does not matter how you finish the treatment - cholesterol without treatment can still return to the initially high level. I enclose additional information about the drug Atorvox - the preparation can be booked through GdziePoLek and picked up stationary upon presentation of a prescription: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/7944/atorvox-tabletki-powlekane/apteki/w-warszawie You may be interested in the following materials: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/wysoki-cholesterol
