Has your doctor recommended an appropriate way to reduce my dose of Metypred?

Good morning. For tinnitus I was prescribed Metypred in the following doses: 4 days x 48 mg 4 days x 32 mg 4 days x 16 mg 4 days x 8 mg Discontinue. I weigh about 60 kg. Isn't it too fast to get off such doses in this way? Additionally, the steroid intensified my noise and caused a new general squeak in my head. I did not find such information in the leaflet.

The use of metypred, as well as the termination of therapy should be strictly determined by the doctor. It is the doctor who decides how to dose the drug. Discontinuation of the drug should proceed as directed by your doctor. If the doctor thinks that the increase in noise and the appearance of a "squeak in the head" is the result of using the drug, I encourage you to report the occurrence of side effects of the drug.
