How can I buy Protelos?

The doctor prescribed me Protelos for osteoporosis (due to the contraindications to the stack. in my case, the standard use in Poland drugs). Unfortunately, pharmacies do not know how to bring it and whether it is covered by the target import. How to buy it? (If possible, without going abroad to fulfill a prescription.) Sincerely, Ewa Łukowicz

I found information from the spring of 2017 that the production, sale and supply of Protelos had been discontinued at the request of the marketing authorisation holder - Les Laboratoires Servier. In April 2020, a decision was issued to withdraw the marketing authorisation for Protelos. The decision was due to the fact that the drug was used by very few patients, and after the emergence of concerns about the safety of the drug related to cardiovascular risk, it even decreased even more. It is possible that strontium ranelate (the active ingredient in Protelos) is sold worldwide under trade names such as Osstium, Onita or Ronilate. However, I am not able to replace the pharmacy in checking in the department of the pharmaceutical wholesaler dealing with the target import whether any of these products would be orderable as part of the target import. The procedure itself is described in our study: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/import-docelowy-jak-sprowadzic-lek-z-zagranicy You may also be interested in our article: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/osteoporoza-jak-zapobiegac-i-jak-leczyc
