The dosage of Amaryl and Symformin depends on your results and the amount of substances you are taking (doses). Initially, glimepiride (e.g. Amaryl) is administered at a dose of 1 mg/day. If adequate glycemic control is achieved, the patient usually stays with this dose. The dose may also be higher. It is recommended to take the medicine immediately before or during breakfast or other main meal. In contrast, prolonged-release metformin (e.g., Symformin XR) is most often recommended to be used during or after an evening meal. I remind you that despite the use of drugs, the basis for effective treatment of diabetes is still the development of healthier, lasting eating habits, regular physical activity and control of blood glucose.
