Good morning, I had a consultation with 2 cardiologists and everyone prescribed me something different. One offered me Prestarium 5mg 1x 0 and another Polsart 40mg 1x0. I have episodes of several days with hypertension 3.4 times a year. 150/105. I have a family of heartworms. What to do? What to choose? Question: do both drugs work the same? Which one is better?

Both Prestarium and Polsart are drugs used in the first wave of hypertension treatment (i.e. prescribed as one of the first to the patient). However, these are not equivalents (other active substances). The mechanism of action on the body of each of them is slightly different, so there is neither a worse nor a better drug here. You have to decide which doctor will be the attending physician and then use the medicines prescribed by him and follow his recommendations. None of the doctors made a mistake. It often happens that the treatment of hypertension does not end with one drug, because either the patient reacts badly, or some side effects occur, or you will have to add some other drug. I encourage you to use one of the drugs, untreated pressure causes a lot of negative changes in our body, so there is no need to postpone it.
