You have not written what exact injection you are talking about. As for depo-provera, the recommended dose is 150 mg every 3 months. The time between injections must not exceed 89 days. I leave a link to the text related to the topic: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/antykoncepcja-hormonalna
