According to the information in the clindanea leaflet - "Do not take Clindanea while breastfeeding". However, according to the available lactation lexicons, we can conclude that clindamycin (the active substance in Clindanea) is excreted in milk in clinically insignificant amounts and its effect on the fed baby is very rarely observed. Clindamycin belongs to the L2 group according to the Hale Lactation Risk Category. The L2 group includes drugs compatible with breastfeeding and safe for mother and baby during lactation. If you want to completely minimise the risk to your baby, please use the medicine immediately after feeding, so as to ensure that the time interval between the dose of Clindanea and the next feeding is as long as possible. You can also avoid feeding at a time when the drug reaches its maximum concentration in the blood (1-2 hours after administration).
