Is a dose of 500 mg of the antibiotic Bioracef for a child weighing 30 kg adequate?

Hello son has angine is 8 years old and weighs 30kg. The doctor prescribed him a bioracef of 500mg 2×1. And here my question is whether this is not too much dose for a child?

To @Paula: Perhaps the doctor has experience in this type of therapy. Some sources give general guidelines - for the treatment of acute infections in children under 40 kg twice a day 500 mg. Perhaps the doctor suggested such guidelines, other than those given by the manufacturer of the drug Bioracef. However, in my opinion and from the available data, it appears that there will be no overdose. Please do not reduce the dose of the drug "on your own".

Because I called and he said that this is a good dose but reading the leaflet I am not. And if I reduce it will be enough

And can I reduce the dose to 1/2 or 2/3 tablet myself

The usual dose for a child weighing 30 kg is between 300 mg and 450 mg twice a day. Consult your pediatrician and confirm whether it will be safe to use 500 mg twice a day for your child.
