Is the pimples on the forehead the result of withdrawal of Izotek?
Good morning, I'm around. 2 months after finishing the treatment with isotek. Recently, the skin of my forehead has become very greasy, which causes small pustules on my forehead to appear. Is this normal after discontinuation of the isotek? (acne was treated in the area of the mandible and cheeks). I wash my face every morning and evening 2 times with different gels, I also use moisturizing cream and spf every day. None of the cosmetics is new, so I wonder if it could be due to the withdrawal of isotek.

According to the information about the drug Izotek, the treatment usually lasts from 16 to 24 weeks. In most patients, only one course of treatment is necessary. Symptoms of acne may disappear for up to 8 weeks after the end of the treatment. Usually, by this time, another course of treatment is not started. If the pimples on the forehead persist and this will be a significant problem for you, then it would be advisable to contact a dermatologist. When it comes to washing, excessive "peeling" of the lipid layer is not beneficial for the skin. Immediately after washing, the feeling of "oiliness" disappears, but the skin deprived of lipids in this way quickly "makes up" and the glands produce even more sebum. Perhaps this phenomenon was not observed by you during the treatment with Izotek, which calms the skin. Paradoxically, it could be helpful to include, for example, nightly cosmetics rebuilding the hydrolipid barrier. In addition, a moisturizer and SPF alone, without the content of active ingredients, may not be enough care for acne-prone skin.
