Should the fever subside after three days of Sumamed?

If the son took today 3 doses of sumamed and then feverish it is necessary to change the antibiotic or will it start to work and stop feverishness

Sumamed is a potent antibiotic that we usually give 3 days, a maximum of 6 days - once a day. I understand that the third day of antibiotic administration has already passed and the fever continues to occur. In my opinion, it is necessary to consult the attending physician and perhaps change the treatment. Fever is the result of ongoing inflammation caused by microbes (e.g. bacteria). The antibiotic begins to act quite quickly and although the patient takes the drug only for three days, its effect is long-lasting and helps to fight bacteria for up to 7-10 days. We do not know exactly how much the temperature in a child is. If you observe a temperature above 38 degrees, which does not fall - and in addition, the child is weakened and has a very bad mood, it is worth consulting a pediatrician by phone.
