Can pregabalin be administered intravenously?

No. In Poland, only solid forms with pregabalin are currently available - hard capsules, tablets. Oral solutions have registration, but they are not visible on the market. These forms are intended exclusively for oral intake and action after absorption from the gastrointestinal tract. There are no industrial forms of pregabalin for intravenous use. Other routes of administration of pregabalin than oral - intravenous, rectal or nasal - are associated with improper use and abuse of pregabalin for recreational purposes. Using pregabalin in this way can have a direct effect on the central nervous system, causing potentially dangerous side effects such as drowsiness, sedation, respiratory failure and even death.
